Sacramento Ballet Presents
Season Finale at CSUS
The Sacramento Ballet brings it grace,
precision and fluidity to California State University, Sacramento
with its season finale performance, Modern Masters, May 3
- 6 at the CSUS University Theatre.
The opening night performance is at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May
3 with additional performances at 8 p.m., Friday, May 4 and
Saturday, May 5. A Sunday matinee will be held on May 6 at
2 p.m.
Under the dynamic leadership of the Sacramento Ballet's artistic
director Ron Cunningham, Modern Masters is a festival of five
contemporary pieces destined to become tomorrow's classics.
The program features David Parson's The Envelope, a comedic
modern ballet; John Clifford's Fantasies, a romantic ballet;
Thor Stutkowski's Espresso, a dynamic tour de force of neo-classic
dance; the premiere of Nolan T'Sami's Wan Chai Moon, a seductive
ballet with Asian themes; and the premiere of an explosive
ballet et to an original score by composer Jermoe Begin.
In addition to raising money for future CSUS dance scholarships,
the event will celebrate the merger of the CSUS theatre and
dance departments.
Tickets are available for $20 and children under 12 are $15.
