Sacramento State is stepping up its campus crisis communication procedure with a test run of a new Emergency Notification System along with a simulated critical incident involving emergency personnel, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Friday, April 25.

ENS automates delivery of urgent announcements to large segments of the campus community, such as students, faculty and staff through text messages, telephone calls and e-mail.

The simulated incident will take place at Draper Hall, part of the University’s student residence complex, and will involve members of Sacramento State’s Police Department.

“The safety of our students, faculty, staff and campus visitors is paramount, and the implementation of the new emergency alert system is a significant step toward that end,” says Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez.
