Sacramento State’s Theatre and Dance Department hosts the 2008 Senior Dance Concert, Impact, an annual production highlighting the choreographic works of the department’s graduating students. Performances are at 6:30 p.m., May 7; at 8 p.m., May 8, 9 and 10; and at 2 p.m., May 11, in Solano Hall DanceSpace, Room 1010. There will be a question and answer session with the choreographers immediately following the May 7 performance.

Impact features an eclectic mix of styles including contemporary, modern, jazz, tap, and hip-hop and incorporates themes such as living with an illness, the return from war, and just having fun.

Chance procedures, made famous by choreographer Merce Cunningham, are incorporated in one piece through the use of tossing dice and randomly selected music, while singing and speech are highlighted in another piece.

Parental advisory is cautioned as one piece contains adult language. Full of twists-and-turns and fun surprises, Impact will keep audiences entertained.

Tickets are $12 general; $10 students and seniors; and $8 children and can be purchased at the Sacramento State Ticket Office (916) 278-4323 or at www.tickets.com.

For more information call (707) 628-5271 or visit the Department of Theatre and Dance at www.csus.edu/dram. For media assistance, call Sacramento State’s Public Affairs office at (916) 278-6156.
