Sacramento State Alum, trial attorney and author John Poswall will visit the campus 3 p.m., Thursday, May 15 to talk about his new novel, The Altar Boys. The discussion will be in the University Library Gallery.
Poswall, who was once the Associate Students Inc. president here, graduated from Sacramento State in 1966.
“It is very nice to have someone of his celebrity and talent to share with the community, says Sally Hitchcock, University Library outreach coordinator. “And it is even more special because of his ties to Sacramento State.”
Alter Boys is his second book. It is a legal drama in which a lawyer takes on the Catholic Church, faith, religion and friendship. His first book, The Lawyers, Class of ‘69, chronicles the experiences of five fictional UC Berkeley law students and the evolution of their 60s ideals over the course of their lives.
Poswell is listed in Best Lawyers in America. He has also been honored as Humanitarian of the Year by the Sacramento County Bar Association.
He received the Alumni Honors Award from Sacramento State in 1984 and 1996 and received the Alumni Distinguished Service Award, the highest award given by the University, in 1995.
The presentation is co-sponsored by the University Library, the Emeritus Faculty Association, the Sacramento State Division of Nursing and Capital Public Radio. It is free and open to the public.
