Sacramento State hosts 12th Annual Conflict Resolution Workshop
A conflict resolution workshop will be held at Sacramento State from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., June 18 – 22. The twelfth annual workshop will provide training for participants in negotiation and mediation techniques and process, conflict theories and practices, and teach them how to become conflict mediators.
Trainers include professor of criminal justice Ernest Uwazie, who is also a conflict resolution trainer, practitioner and scholar and director for the Center of African Peace and Conflict Resolution; attorney Daniel Yamshon, a resolution trainer, practitioner and theorist at domestic and international levels; and Thelma Johnson, a youth community mediation trainer and practitioner, and an expert in cross-cultural communication.
The five-day workshop will be highly interactive, with short lectures, role-playing and exercises. The event is designed for those in community and non-governmental organizations, public and private agencies, business, human rights groups, professional and trade unions and educational institution groups.
