Sacramento State alumni group hosts election forum

Panel speakers featuring California’s leading political consultants, party leaders and pundits will discuss both the candidates and issues of California’s June Primary at the Election 2008 Forum. The event will be held from 5:30-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, at the Secretary of State Auditorium, 11th and O Streets. The event is free, but a $5 donation is suggested for non-Capital Fellows alumni.

The panel on California will feature Ron Nehring and Art Torres, chairs of the California Republican and Democratic parties, as well as long-time Democratic and Republican campaign consultants Ray McNally of McNally Temple and Bill Cavala, formerly of the Speaker’s Office of Member Services.

The national issues panel will include Assemblymember Dave Jones representing the Barack Obama campaign; Steve Maviglio, spokesperson for former Speaker Fabian Nuñez, on behalf of the Clinton campaign; Adam Mendelsohn, former communications director for Governor Schwarzenegger, representing the McCain campaign; and Sacramento Bee political columnist Dan Walters.

The forum is sponsored by the Capital Fellows Alumni, an affiliate of the Sacramento State Alumni Association comprised of former Assembly, Executive, Judicial Administration and Senate Fellows.
