Sacramento State’s University Library will offer a “Stress-Free Zone” for students studying for finals, which are due to start Monday, May 19.
Students can follow the signs from the tiki hut in the Library’s main lobby downstairs and find the new Stress-Free Zone set up for study breaks during finals week, May 19-23. The alcove adjacent to the Friends of the Library book bin has comfortable chairs and a tropical theme with palm trees, hula hoops, games, toys and puzzles to take students’ minds off their finals. The Library will also relax the “no food rule” by offering popcorn fresh from an old-fashioned cart. Students can also bring their own food and drink downstairs without guilt for the week of finals.
Additionally, University librarian Alicia Patrice, registered Yoga instructor, will offer free relaxation sessions during finals week. Sessions will be offered from noon-12:30 p.m. and 3:30-4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and on Wednesday from 9:30-10 a.m. and 4:30-5 p.m.
