Exceptional art by exceptional students
Works
by area elementary and middle school students with disabilities will be featured
at Sacramento State in the "I Can Do That!" exhibit from noon to 4:30
p.m., Tuesday, June 7 to Saturday, June 25 in the University Library Gallery.
A reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 10.
The exhibit, sponsored by the University's Services to Students with Disabilities,
features works that students have produced through a program of the non-profit
Very Special Arts Sacramento. The program links professional artists and teachers
with disabled students in local schools, allowing students to learn different
art styles such as cubism, pop art, realism and pointillism. Works on display
will include paintings, ceramics, mosaics, poetry and other forms of visual
art.
