Sacramento State’s Peak Adventures will offer activities ranging from river walks to white water rafting for youngsters from ages 9 to 18 at three camps this summer.

Green and Gold Camp, open to youngsters 9 to 12 years of age, will help children learn about the outdoors through river walks, plant identification in the arboretum, swimming, compass skills training, arts and crafts, games and more. Campers will meet from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Sacramento State’s campus. Sessions will be held June 19-23, July 10-14, July 24-28 and July 31-Aug. 4. The cost is $215 per child.

Adventure Camp, geared to youths ages 12 to 15, will provide youngsters with activities such as climbing high ropes, rock climbing, hiking and white water rafting. Youngsters will meet Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an overnight stay at Camp Lotus in Coloma on Thursday night. Camp sessions are set for June 26-30, July 17-21 and Aug. 14-18. The cost is $345.

Leadership Camp, open to youngsters 15-18, provides an opportunity for teenagers to learn leadership skills through various activities during a weeklong backpacking adventure. The week ends with a white water rafting trip on the South Fork of the American River. Leadership Camp will be held July 31-Aug. 4. The cost is $345.

Rates are discounted for Sacramento State faculty, staff, students and alumni.
