Matthew
Altier has been named executive director of the CSUS Foundation at California
State University, Sacramento. In addition, he will hold the title of vice president
for capital planning and resource development. Altier is currently associate
vice president for facilities management at CSUS. He will assume his new responsibilities
in September.
He replaces Elroy Littlefield, who will retire this fall as foundation executive
director after a distinguished career at CSUS.
In making the announcement, CSUS President Alexander Gonzalez said that in the
new dual role of executive director and vice president, Altier will not only
manage and provide leadership for the CSUS Foundation and its operations, but
also continue to assist in the development and oversight of the Campus Master
Plan. This entails planning efforts both on the CSUS campus – Destination
2010 – and other possible sites such as the new Placer County campus.
Altier will also continue to plan and develop new resources and relationships
for future projects. These include: student housing; development of a river-view
restaurant; involvement in the planning and development of the 65th Street Redevelopment
Zone; assistance with the development of the new Recreation, Wellness and Events
Center facility; acquisition of off-campus land and facilities; and assistance
with the economic development of the University and region through relationships
in the community.
“With the scope of responsibility and authority of his new position, Matt
will be able to expand the role of the CSUS Foundation, while at the same time,
enhancing the University and its related auxiliaries,” Gonzalez said.
The search for a new associate vice president for facilities management will
begin immediately.
