J Street repair gets underway July 11

The City of Sacramento Department of Transportation will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction on J Street between Carlson Drive and Alhambra Boulevard while street repairs are made beginning Monday, July 11 through Thursday, July 21.

Work will take place during the non-peak hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weekdays. The project will start at Carlson Drive and progress west to Alhambra Boulevard on both the north and south sides of J Street.

In addition, street repair will require closing J Street from 33rd Street to Alhambra Boulevard on Saturday, July 16 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to ensure a safe work zone for both motorists and workers. All residents will be notified and access to businesses will be maintained on the east side of the project. Detours will be posted.

The repair work precedes the repaving of this portion of J Street, which will start in mid August.
