Nursing students seek
community service projects
Teams
of students in the division of nursing at California State University, Sacramento
are once again seeking community service project proposals from health agencies
and service groups.
Projects will be reviewed by the nursing program. Those accepted will be carried
out by senior nursing students, who must complete the work to earn their degrees.
Over the course of a year, groups of CSUS students develop, implement and evaluate
as many as two dozen projects.
Any project that would provide students with practical experience in planning
and implementing a health-related project in the community will be considered.
Some recent projects have been a comprehensive resource guide for individuals
with ALS, a mother and baby health education program, a health fair curriculum,
a health and wellness program for kindergarteners, a lead prevention program
and dental health promotion.
Project ideas will be accepted through Aug 15. Detailed information is available
by contacting Nancy Beers in the division of nursing at (916) 278-6714.
