Journalism Awards deadline extended
The deadline for the 11th annual California Journalism Awards
competition has been extended to Friday, Aug. 5.
The competition is open to journalists who have published or broadcast a story
about state government or politics in California. Entries must have been published
or broadcast between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2004. Winners will receive a $500
cash prize.
Journalists may enter themselves or be nominated by someone else such as a
section editor, news assignment editor or program directors. Student journalists
can apply for the Katharine Macdonald cash prize award.
Winners will be chosen by Sept. 2. The cash prize awards will be presented
at the Center for California Studies’ 11th Annual Journalism Awards luncheon
on Sept. 14 at the Sacramento Convention Center featuring National Public Radio
reporter Madalit del Barco.
Entries must include name, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address.
All print entries must be on 8 ½- by 11-inch paper. Radio entries must
be submitted on audio cassette, and television entries must be on VHS tape.
