‘Seven Habits’ author to talk strong families

Stephen R. Covey,
bestselling author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, will
offer insight into improving family relationships in a free lecture at California
State University, Sacramento at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17 in the University Union
Ballroom. Titled “Strengthening Families and Communities,” the hour-and-a-half
lecture is presented by the University’s Center for Family Studies.
Using the 7 Habits as a foundation, Covey will discuss the differences
between effective and ineffective families and offer principles that can enable
family members to better communicate and resolve challenges. He will share insightful,
poignant and humorous experiences from his own life, and from families who are
striving to live these guiding principles.
Covey is vice chairman of FranklinCovey, a leading global professional services
firm. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People has sold more than 13
million copies in 36 languages worldwide.
Free parking for the talk will be available from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in University
Lots 4, 6 and 8, near the University Union off State University Drive East.
