Sacramento State will ensure that students receive state financial aid this fall, even if the Legislature and Governor do not agree on a state budget by the start of school.
Students shouldn’t notice any change in the way funds are distributed. The campus will borrow from other operating funds through an internal accounting process, making approximately $5 million available for those scheduled to receive Cal Grants, State University Grants, and EOP Grants.
The funds will be restored once a state budget is in place.
“We are working hard to reduce any negative impacts for students while we deal with the late state budget,” says Financial Aid Director Craig Yamamoto.
