Open
house showcases new digital media lab
California
State University, Sacramento will offer the community a peek behind
the digital multimedia curtain when it hosts an open house for its
new digital media laboratories in Mendocino Hall, second and third
floors, from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28.
Designed to give prospective digital media students a taste of the
cutting-edge technology available to them at the University, the
open house will feature demonstrations in video, audio and multimedia
production. It will also include the unveiling of the University's
new digital audio studio.
The University's digital media major gives students nuts and bolts
experience in creating multimedia products-using professional hardware
and software to blend text, video, audio and graphic elements into
high-quality presentations. It also offers an educational breadth
appropriate for a project director or manager.
"Students who go through our program will be familiar with
the entire production process. They'll know how to put it all together
to communicate a message," said Val Smith, chair of the communication
studies department.
The open house is free and open to the public. For more information,
