CSUS
Center for Small Business
provides free management assistance
The
California State University, Sacramento Center for Small Business
is now accepting requests for free management assistance from small
businesses in the Sacramento region. Applications for assistance
are available by calling (916) 278-7278.
Beginning its 34th year of operation, the center is one of the oldest
and largest in the United States. From its modest beginnings, when
the center worked with seven companies, its students now assist
more than 100 companies each year. Working under faculty supervision,
the students give advice and guidance across a full-range of management
issues except taxation, law and loan packaging.
"Demand for our services has increased significantly,"
said Dennis H. Tootelian, center director. "Last year, our
students spent more than 7,100 hours working with our clients."
The center's services are made possible through the support of several
local banks, the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District, and REsource
Capital.
Looking forward, Tootelian said he is very optimistic: "We
are exploring ways to stay ahead of the changing times and will
continue to expand the services we offer and find new means for
delivering services."
