Progressive candidates forum at CSUS

Recall election candidates representing various progressive political parties will participate in a faculty-sponsored event at California State University, Sacramento from 7 to 10 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 7 in the University Union Ballroom.

The “Progressive Election Forum” will feature Green Party gubernatorial candidate Peter Camejo and Peace and Freedom Party candidate C.T. Weber. Speakers opposed to Proposition 54 - which seeks to prohibit public agencies, schools and employers from collecting and maintaining data on race and ethnic origin - will also participate in the forum.

The event is free and open to the public. Speakers will also field questions from the audience.

A separate election event, a gubernatorial debate of leading candidates co-sponsored by CSUS and the California Broadcasters Association, will be held at CSUS on Sept. 24.

For questions regarding the “Progressive Election Forum” call Rhonda Rios Kravitz at (916) 278-5477 or Pat Driscoll at (916) 320-6430. For media assistance call the CSUS public affairs office at (916) 278-6156.
