California State University, Sacramento is gearing up for a Homecoming Week filled with fun activities Tuesday, Oct. 15 through Saturday, Oct. 19, when the Hornets take on Portland State at 1 p.m. at Hornet Stadium.

The week will have a blast-from-the-past, 1950s theme. Among the CSUS Alumni Association events at the Steven Lee Yamshon Alumni Center will be a classic car display and traditional rock 'n' roll sock hop with live music from the 1950s era.

Noontime events in the library quad will include a barbecue, live music with a local band, spirit rally and campus photo.

The schedule of events is as follows:

Tuesday, Oct. 15

• Alumnus Ken Macias will speak on "Restoring Trust, Ethics in Business" at the Alumni Breakfast Club at 7:30 a.m. in the Yamshon Alumni Center. The campus community is invited. Admission is free and breakfast will be served. For reservations, call 278-4899.

Wednesday, Oct. 16

• Class of '52 "Golden Grads" reunion luncheon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Yamshon Alumni Center. $25 per person. For more information, contact Linda Scott at 278-4899 or scottl@csus.edu.
  
• Barbecue with live music in the library quad from noon to 1 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 17

• Open house at the Yamshon Alumni Center from 4 to 7 p.m. The campus community is invited for ice cream sundaes and root beer floats.
  
• Campus photo at 12:30 p.m., CSUS marching band and spirit rally from noon to 1 p.m., in the library quad.

Friday, Oct. 18

• Music and barbeque from noon to 1 p.m. in the library quad. Bonfire tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m. in the overflow parking lot.
  
• Alumni Honors Luncheon, alumni chosen by faculty of various departments will be honored at the Yamshon Alumni Center from noon to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. For more information, contact alumni relations office at 278-6295.
  
• Alumna Kitty O' Neal will emcee the unveiling of the Alumni Presidential Photo Gallery from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Yamshon Alumni Center. $25 per person. For reservations, call 278-6295.

Saturday, Oct. 19

• Classic car display by the Cappuccino Cruisers, "Then and Now" displays from the seven CSUS Colleges, rock 'n' roll music by the DickTones, hula hoop contests and more from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Yamshon Alumni Center.
  
• Hornet football vs. Portland State at 1 p.m. in Hornet Stadium.
  
• Rock 'n' roll Sock Hop from 8:30 p.m. to midnight at the Yamshon Alumni Center. Desserts and coffee will be available. Campus community is invited, and students are welcome. $10 per person at the door.
