Campus
seeks new voters
California
State University, Sacramento's student government is urging students
to get out and vote by holding a registration drive from 11 a.m.-
2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3 on the campus' Library Quad.
Associated Students hopes to register 2,003 new voters in time for
the Nov. 5 statewide election. The state deadline for registering
to vote in this November's gubernatorial election is Oct. 21.
ASI says it is specifically trying to get new voters between ages
18-24, a group with traditionally lower voter turnout than other
California age groups.
For more information about the registration drive contact Erin Hicks
with Associated Students at (916) 278-4032. Media assistance is
available by contacting CSUS public affairs at (916) 278-6156.
