Annual campus crime report now available
California State University, Sacramento’s annual campus
crime report is now available online at www.csus.edu/police/cleryact.htm.
Printed copies are available in Student Affairs, Public Safety and the University
Library.
The report, which covers 2003, shows small but significant declines in most
categories. Aggravated assault rose a bit due to incidents on non-campus property.
The report also includes extensive information about law enforcement, crime
reporting, campus security, crime prevention and resources. And in addition
to required categories, Sacramento State’s report includes a section on
“hate crimes.” The few incidents in this category are related to
graffiti, according to campus police.
Detailed incident statistics can be found by scrolling to the middle of the
report.
The report is published in compliance with the federal Clery Act, which requires
universities nationwide to inform the community about all campus crimes reported
to any campus official. It also requires that the campus reports include property
immediately adjacent to any campus property and to property the campus uses,
such as rented office space.
Sacramento State has received high marks from auditors for its Clery Act reporting.
