Blizzard of bargains at annual ski swap

Blizzard of bargains at annual ski swapSkiers and snowboarders, get ready: one of the largest one-day sales of new and used ski equipment in the Sacramento area is back. The 42nd annual Sacramento State Ski and Snowboard Swap will be held from 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, in the University Union Ballroom. Early-bird admission is $20, and the first 800 paying attendees will receive passes to Sugar Bowl Ski Resort. After 10 a.m., general admission is $10, and admission for college students with identification cards and for senior citizens is $5. Children under 10 are admitted free.

The organizers of this year’s Ski Swap are once again donating 1 percent of what the club earns to the planned Recreation and Wellness Center. "We believe in giving back to the Sacramento State community, and our club wants to make positive contributions towards the advancement of our university," says Patrick Jennings, president of the Sacramento State Ski and Snowboard Club.

In order to sell gear, sellers must check in their equipment from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, in the lobby in front of the University Union Ballroom. All unsold merchandise can be picked up from 4:30-7:30 p.m. after the swap.

For more information about the Ski and Snowboard Swap, contact Adam Louvau at (916) 607-8471 or visit www.sacstateskiswap.com. For media assistance, contact Sacramento State’s Public Affairs office at (916) 278-6156.
