Homecoming Week gets a healthy
start with ‘Funday Sunday’ fair

Homecoming 2003 & Parents Weekend Schedule of Events

A free wellness and recreation fair featuring musical performances by some of Sacramento’s favorite bands will launch Homecoming Week at California State University, Sacramento from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 19. “Funday Sunday” activities will take place at the University’s Outdoor Theatre, Library Quad and Football Practice Field.

“Bike, Hike and Wheel to Campus” is the theme of the event, and free bicycle inspections and “valet” bicycle parking will be provided. Fairgoers will be treated to a variety of information booths, demonstrations and presentations from on and off-campus organizations, all promoting healthy lifestyles. Special appearances by Michele Kane, KOVR13 anchor, and Cary Nosler, host of the nationally syndicated radio show “Wide World of Health,” are also scheduled.

Three bands are set to perform throughout the day at the Outdoor Theatre, closing with Funkengruven at 1 p.m. An NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Football Practice field. Free parking will be available all day in faculty, staff and student spaces.
