Music faculty perform to benefit students
Members of the
music department faculty at California State University, Sacramento are set
to perform a “Faculty Showcase Concert” benefiting the CSUS Music
Student Scholarship Fund at 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 20, in the Music Recital Hall
in Capistrano Hall.
Featured faculty performers include Richard Cionco, John Cozza, Roy Sanchez
and Kirsten Smith on piano, Ian Swensen on violin, Deborah Pittman on clarinet,
Peter Nowlen on horn, Keith Bohm on saxophone and vocalists Robin Fisher and
Claudia Kitka.
The concert will include works from Sergei Rachmaninoff, Edvard Grieg, Bela
Bartok, Carl Reinecke, Seymour Barab, Irving Fine and Bernhard Heiden.
Admission to the event is free but donations will be accepted at the door. All
proceeds will go directly to the Music Student Scholarship Fund.
