CSUS makes Yahoo's 'wired colleges' list
California State University, Sacramento
is among the nation's top 200 most "wired colleges,"
according to the annual rankings released this month by Yahoo
Internet Life magazine.
CSUS was the 120th among more than 1,300 universities surveyed,
the magazine said. That put CSUS fourth among CSU campuses
(behind San Francisco State, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and
Cal Poly Pomona) and 12th in the state.
The online and print magazine considered six categories when
developing its rankings.
It gave CSUS the highest mark for "e-learning" and
another high mark in "student resources," both areas
in which the University has focused its efforts. CSUS now
offers more than 30 Web-based classes each semester and more
than 150 other classes feature websites with interactive quizzes
and other features. The CasperWeb service provides online
access to student records, personalized academic progress
reports, financial aid information and more.
The University scored above average in the "Web portal"
and "infrastructure" categories, and lower in "wireless"
and "tech support."
