Public
forums set on CSUS athletics
Two
public forums have been scheduled by the Athletics Task Force at
California State University, Sacramento. The task force was established
by President Alexander Gonzalez to review the campus athletics program
and provide him with recommendations.
The public forums will be Monday, Nov. 10 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in
the University Union Redwood Room and Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 11:30
a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Union Hinde Auditorium. Parking
permits and information for the events will be available at the
information kiosks at the entrances to campus.
The forum will allow members of the campus community and greater
Sacramento region to present opinions on the future direction and
role of the University’s athletics program.
The task force will be posing five questions at the forums:
-
What is the role of intercollegiate athletics at the University?
-
What are the benefits of a successful athletics program?
-
Which facilities need improvement?
-
What issues regarding conference affiliation and community interests
need to be addressed?
- What
should be the future direction of the athletics program?
