Global music hums at CSUS
An evening of traditional and contemporary
world music featuring Steev Rothman Kindwald and Stephen Kent
plays at California State University, Sacramento at 7 p.m.,
Sunday, Nov. 4. The concert takes places in the Music Recital
Hall in Capistrano Hall.
Kindwald has spent the past eight years in Asia studying the
various forms of ancient trance music. He is a recognized
master on a variety of flutes and jaw harps from Russia, Pakistan,
Indonesia and Nepal. He defines his musical style as "natural
desert going meditative jazz trance."
He will be joined by Kent, well-known Australian Aboriginal
didjeridu player who has recorded more than 13 critically
acclaimed CDs of original music.
Tickets for the concert are $5 for students and $10 for general
