A mix of fiery
footwork and hot Latin jazz will be combined in the California State University,
Sacramento faculty dance concert “Moves with Latin Grooves.” Featuring
the combined choreography of five CSUS faculty members with music from the CSUS
Latin Jazz Ensemble, the show will take the University Theatre stage at 8 p.m.
for three nights, Dec. 11 to 13.
Professors Ed Brazo, Linda Goodrich, Lisa Ross and Dale Scholl, along with the
show’s director, professor Paul Besaw, have created original dance numbers
to the rhythms of Afro-Cuban, cha-cha, mambo, bolero and contemporary Latin
rock. The twenty-piece CSUS Latin Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of faculty
member Steve Roach, will drive the dancers with a vibrant Latin beat. Also included
in the ensemble are four guest artists sitting in especially for the show.
The performances are latest in a series of biennial dance concerts presented
by the University’s theatre and dance department. This year’s exciting
show is sure to get the audience to its feet.
Tickets are $15 general, $13 for students and seniors, $12 for CSUS students
and $9 for children 12 and younger and are available from the CSUS Ticket Office
at (916) 278-4323 or Tickets.com. For media assistance, contact CSUS public
