CSUS Festival of
the Arts Springs to Life
This spring, California State University,
Sacramento bursts with creativity at the ninth annual Festival
of the Arts, March 23 - 31. See the Festival
of the Arts Calendar of events.
More than 20,000 people attended last year's various dance,
design, art, poetry, theatre and music events. This year's
festival promises to be just as exciting, with featured
lectures and exhibits by Aaron Betsky, curator of architecture
and design at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Suzanne
Anker, artist and professor at the New York School of Visual
Arts; Kim Addonizio, poet and National Book Award nominee,
as well as many other celebrated artists.
CSUS School of the Arts faculty members created the festival's
diverse program which will include free and ticketed events
such as exhibits by cinematographer Mark Herzig, puppetry,
dance, cabaret, poetry, flamenco fusion, a production of Heather
McDonald's play Dream of a Common Language and music performances
by internationally acclaimed recorder player Marion Verbruggen
as well as the CSUS Jazz, Symphony, Orchestra and Choir ensembles.
