MIS Advisory Committee Guides Students

A new committee has been formed this semester in the management information science department with the student in mind.

The members of the committee include: Dean Ramey, faculty from the MIS Department and professionals from the business community.

The corporate members are:

• Gary Brooks,Vice President of Information Systems, Vision Service Plan.
• Richard Giani, Director, Synergy Consulting, Inc.
• Septimus Kwong, Deputy Project Executive, IBM Global Services.
• David LaMar, Vice President, Foundation Health Systems.
• Dave Padmos, Partner, Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
• Debra Sleigh, Director of Software Services, Sutter Health.
• Kenneth Taylor, Vice President of Professional Services, YourAccounts.com

The MIS advisory committee’s goal is to assist the department in guiding its curriculum to ensure that MIS graduates have a fundamental understanding of the needs business community. The curriculum will prepare students to propose and apply information technology toward solving business problems and satisfy end-user needs.
