State hosts ceremony for new citizens
Nearly
1,500 Northern and Central California residents took the Oath of
Allegiance and became United States citizens during a 10 a.m. ceremony
Wednesday, July 6 at Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium.
Congresswoman
Doris Matsui and Sacramento City Councilmember Kevin McCarty attended
the ceremony presented by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services,
an agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. U.S. District
Court Judge David F. Levi presided.
