  • Students flex their engineering muscles in competitions

    Mail

Students in Sacramento State’s College of Engineering and Computer Science are taking their real-world education beyond the classroom and into intercollegiate competition. Two clubs organized under the school’s umbrella, and advised by top faculty as well as regional experts, are the University’s Concrete Canoe and Hornet Racing teams. They put their civil, mechanical, and computer engineering skills to work designing, building, and then racing a concrete canoe and a Formula SAE car. The students carry their Hornet pride to state, national and global competitions as far away as Lincoln, Neb.
