It's a final on the fairway as California State University, Sacramento students test their golf course business savvy at 10 a.m., Friday, April 7 at Campus Commons Golf Course.
Management professor Craig Kelley's "Salesmanship on the Golf Course" seminar introduces students to a major forum for conducting business. For the last month, students have been learning the basics of golf - including golf etiquette - and tips on how to make deals on the course. On Friday, they'll take their "final," testing their newfound knowledge of salesmanship and golf by playing a round with salespeople from several Sacramento area businesses, including Lucent Technologies, Aramark, ADP, Fastenal and Wallace.
Professors in the management department developed the golf seminar as one of a series of workshops this semester to familiarize students with essential business skills they might not get in the classroom. Other sessions focused on proper business dress and the business dining experience.
Campus Commons Golf Course is at 2 Cadillac Drive in Sacramento. More information is available by calling (916) 278-6156.
