Construction update (November 5, 2007)
As part of the construction of the Broad Athletic Facility, the contractor will be installing a new natural gas line starting at the campus Central Plant on Moraga Way to the intersection of State University Drive and Stadium Drive. The gas line will extend from the Central Plant across Sinclair, in front of Capistrano Hall, behind Amador Hall, across Tahoe Field, and then down the west side of Stadium Drive to the connection point at the Broad Athletic Facility. Construction is expected to be completed in about six weeks. Construction update (August 27, 2007)
The Broad Athletic Facility is under construction with masonry walls and structural steel the focus of current work. Construction is scheduled to be completed in March 2008.
The demolition of Foley Hall is completed. Site preparation for the new student housing project is underway with construction planned to start in October.
The Hornet Bookstore and Serna Plaza Phase I improvements are almost completed.
Design of the Recreation Wellness Center is nearing completion. Site preparation is set to start in April 2008 with construction scheduled for the following October.
Construction update (August 20, 2007)
Sections of Parking Structure III will be closed off for maintenance starting today, Monday, Aug. 20. Work will continue for two weeks.
Site work is underway in Serna Plaza between the new Hornet Bookstore and the University Union. Pedestrians will be rerouted around the construction area.
Roofing work continues at Shasta Hall this week. The building is open during construction.
Chilled water pipe installation will take place this week in front of Shasta Hall. Pedestrians will be rerouted during construction.
Foley Hall demolition is nearing completion, and preparation of the site for the new Student Housing will continue for another month.

Construction update (August 6, 2007)
Facilities Services will be repaving a section of State University Drive this week. State University Drive South and West will be closed from Sinclair Road (near Parking Structure I) to State University Drive East (near Napa Hall) starting Monday, August 6. Work is expected to last one week. Detours will be available.
Work on the plaza between the new Hornet Bookstore and the Student Union will continue this week. Pedestrians will be routed around construction areas.
Site work will occur on the west side and in back of the Public Safety building. Traffic may be disrupted at times.
Roofing work will continue at Shasta Hall this week. The building shall remain open during construction.
Construction update (June 11, 2007)
Fire alarm system installation may occur at Lassen, Solano, Sacramento, Riverside and Shasta Halls this week during normal working hours. Work notices will be posted in the buildings. Disruptions should be minor.
Final fire alarm testing (audible and visual) will occur at Tahoe Hall on Tuesday, June 12. Testing will start at 6 p.m. and continue until complete, but not to exceed eight hours.
Periodic fire alarm pull tests will also occur on Thursday, June 14, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the following buildings:
- Alpine Hall
- Brighton Hall
- Douglas Hall
- Eureka Hall
- Humboldt Hall
- Calaveras Hall
- Riverfront Center
Building occupants will be notified prior to testing.

The Infrastructure II utilities upgrade project continues in various locations. The contractors will be connecting sewer lines and performing surface restoration at a number of locations on campus: Parking Lot 1 near the Facilities Services and Health Services buildings, on Sinclair Road at Riverside Hall, Parking Lot 7 on the south side of Public Services building, at the edge of the pathway west of Shasta Hall and at the edge of the walking path west of Capistrano Hall. A few parking spaces may be blocked off in parking lot areas for short periods of time while this restoration is in progress.
Fire alarm system installation will occur in Parking Structure I, and Solano, Sacramento, Tahoe, Riverside, and Shasta Halls this week. Work will mainly be conducted after hours. Work notices will be posted in the buildings as they proceed.

Riverside Building starting Wednesday, Feb. 21 and continuing
for one week. The service road will be closed to vehicles.

New sewer pipes will be installed along Sinclair Drive north
of Santa Clara Building. Service vehicles should take alternate

the north and west of the Alumni Center will also be closed.

The Infrastructure II utilities upgrade project continues
in various locations. Site preparation for the installation
of a 35,000 gallon sewage storage tank across the street from
Parking Structure I is in progress. Traffic in both directions
on State University West will be maintained; however, lanes
will shift due to construction activities. Access to the faculty
and staff section of Parking Structure I will be modified
during construction. Entrance and exit will be restricted
to northbound traffic only. Student access will not be affected.
Construction in this area is scheduled for approximately six
months. Alternate routes for pedestrians and bikes will be
available.
