New Sponsors Help Carry on Efforts of "Mall Hall"

A new sponsor will help California State University, Sacramento provide computer training and services to the South Sacramento community at Florin Mall.

Allstate Insurance Company corporate relations manager, Robert W. Daniels, will present a check to Social Science and Interdisciplinary Studies Dean Joseph Sheley at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1 in the "Mall Hall" Computer Resource Learning Center located in Florin Mall next to Radio Shack.

"Mall Hall" is open seven days a week, primarily during afternoon and evening hours. It is free to the public and is staffed by CSUS students.

The primary focus of the program is to provide a safe learning environment where community members can learn how to use a computer. The program originally focused on providing services to middle and high school students but recently many adults and seniors have started to use the center.

"Mall Hall" offers free day-time classes and has open computer hours. It also provides a quiet place for students to study or read.
