Kondos lecture and
lithograph
Gregory Kondos, one of
Sacramento's best-known artists and a CSUS alum, will give a free talk at
the Alumni Center at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23. In conjunction with this
event, 200 limited edition signed prints of Kondos' "Life on the River"
are being sold to benefit the University Library and the Alumni
Association. The lithographs are available for $1,000. For more, call

activities
The CSUS
Alumni Association will once again host pre-game parties before every home
football game this fall. The parties feature different themes, food and

Spring
applications restricted
With
heavy budget cuts of about 13 percent to the California State University
system, CSUS is accepting applications for the spring 2004 semester
through the end of August, but only for upper-division
transfers, master’s degree students and education credential students.
Other categories of students will need to apply for fall 2004.

New high-tech hub
CSUS has begun work on its long-awaited Academic Information
Resource Center – a $17.3 million, 100,000 square-foot project that
highlights the growing importance of information technology in higher
education. The project is funded through Proposition 1A, a 1998 state
measure providing funding for education facilities.

'Living
wage' supported in poll
Californians overwhelmingly support the idea of a “living
wage,” though they’re divided on the idea of paying more to support it,
according to a new statewide survey developed by CSUS economics professor
Suzanne O’Keefe and conducted by the Field Research Corporation.
