River City Days to Feature Brains, Bugs and Mangos

The annual festival that showcases California State University, Sacramento to the community is here.

River City Days events culminate with a fair-like campus open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 28. At the event, visitors will receive information on enrollment, financial aid, housing and academic advising. Campus and residence hall tours will be available.

Open house highlights include the biological sciences department's "Bugs!" where kids, and adults too, can learn to make their own insect collections, and the psychology department's "Brains 'N Things," an exhibit of model brains. Food treats will range from mangos, to popcorn and to barbecued hot dogs, hamburgers and veggie burgers. Most events will be in the main quad, but many will take place near various departments and campus open areas.

Events earlier in the week include a concert by Chicano group Alma at noon, Wednesday, April 26 in the University Ballroom in the student union. On Thursday, April 27 UNIQUE Events will sponsor its annual "Stars Under the Stars" free comedy show at 7:30 p.m. in the Outdoor Theatre.
