Run 4 LIFE
Set for October
The second annual Run 4 LIFE, a 5K-run/walk/wheelchair race, will be held at 8 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 8.
Proceeds will benefit California State University, Sacramento's LIFE Center, which encourages wellness for seniors by delivering health services, education and research information. The LIFE Center is located in the west wing of the University's historic Julia Morgan House on T Street.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Steven Lee Yamshon Alumni Center, located just east of Hornet Stadium on State University Drive. Participants will race in a number of age divisions, such as 12-19 and 60-69.
The race will begin at Hornet Stadium. Food, prizes, t-shirts and entertainment will be provided.
Last year the event attracted 500 participants and raised more than $12,000 for the LIFE Center. Organizers expect to top that effort this year.
Early registration forms must be postmarked by Oct. 2 to take advantage of the $20 registration price. Race-day registration will be $25. For children under 12, students and seniors ages 65-79, registration is $15.
Seniors 80 years and over race for free.
Registration forms and more information are available from the CSUS College of Health and Human Services in Solano Hall 5002, by calling (916) 278-7255 or by visiting www.hhs.csus.edu/Run4Life.
