Experimental filmmaker Sandra Davis will speak at California State University, Sacramento at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 10 in the University Union Hinde Auditorium.
Davis will give a talk on her new film A Preponderance of Evidence: A Weird Opera in Three Parts. The film is currently showing at the San Francisco International Film Festival. A preview of the film will be shown. It is not suitable for children.
Davis' work has been included in retrospectives at the major museums of modern art in New York and Paris. She has received numerous grants and awards, including some from the National Endowment for the Arts. In 1992 her film "Manifest" was shown at the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris.
