Tax Practitioners' Institute 2000
California State University, Sacramento will once again sponsor the popular Tax Practioners' Institute. The three-day program provides the opportunity to earn up to 24 hours of continuing professional education credits. These may be used to satisfy the requirements of the California State Board of Accountancy, the Department of Consumer Affairs and, for enrolled agents, the Internal Revenue Service.
Speakers will include the IRS Assistant District Technical Coordinator Bob Meyer; Vernon Mitzel, a field reviewer for the IRS Exam Quality Measurement system; Andy Fullop, an enrolled agent and a tax consultant; John Pavalasky, a legislative specialist for the California Franchise Tax Board; and Jeff Garnier, also a legislative specialist for the California Franchise Tax Board.
They will make presentations on federal and state accounting topics such as current issues, developments and new rulings of importance. The seminar will also focus on changes to the tax laws regarding federal and state legislation, estate taxation, audits and bankruptcy.
