'Wellness Day' Hosts Virtual Party
Virtual intoxication is one of the highlights at California State University, Sacramento's "Wellness Day" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 at the Library Quad.
"Wellness Day" will offer students free measles and rubella immunizations, fitness and dental health advice, chlamydia screening, stress management and body fat testing.
The event will also feature a nationally touring "Blood Alcohol Educator Truck" to help promote responsible decisions about drinking.
The truck, which expands into a cyber café, is equipped with a virtual bar CD-ROM program that allows students to virtually consume alcoholic drinks. The program then calculates blood-alcohol levels based on gender, weight, elapsed time, drinking speed and food consumption and demonstrates various drinking and driving consequences.
Free samples of non-alcoholic cocktails will be available at the event.
