CSUS Welcomes
Zurich Youth Orchestra
Several members of the California State University, Sacramento Orchestra will join the Zurich Youth Orchestra in a performance of classical favorites.
The event will be held at 8 p.m. on Tues. Oct. 10 in the Music Recital Hall in Capistrano Hall.
The Zurich Youth Symphony, founded in 1987 by the English conductor Howard Griffiths, has developed from a string orchestra to a full-size 60-musician symphony orchestra. Students in the orchestra range from ages 14 to 25, and are currently directed by Marc Kissoczy.
The orchestra rehearses weekly and performs a half of dozen concerts a year. Recent tours include France, England and Germany. The program at CSUS will feature Beethoven's Egmont Overture, Dvorak's Eighth Symphony, and Borodin's Polovetsian Dances.
Ticket prices are $6 for general admission and $4 for students and seniors. They may be purchased through the Central Ticket Office at 278-4323, or at the door.
