Sacramento State will host the next regional meeting of the American Chemical Society.

Chemistry graduate student, Sylvia Hilt, won an award for the best student paper at the Protien Society meeting.

Faculty in the college engage in basic and applied research, often focusing on issues of regional importance. Students collaborate with faculty during the academic year and during our Summer Undergraduate Research Program. Some students receive stipends in the summer so they can focus on research full time. Our students are particularly active in presenting the results of their work at scientific conferences.

Graduate programs in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geology and Mathematics offer master's students opportunities to conduct advanced research. Our new Professional Science Master's in Stem Cell Research is specifically designed to prepared students for careers in stem cell research laboratories.
