CSUS - LOS RIOS SCIENCE TRANSFER PROJECT (STP)

Program Benefits

Guaranteed Transfer to the California State University, Sacramento:

STP Scholars receive Academic advising from California State University, Sacramento faculty who meet with them on their community college campuses. The Academic Advisors assist with taking the courses that will apply to your academic program and keep you on track to transfer. In addition, STP provides assistance with completion of transfer paperwork including completion of the application for admission to California State University, Sacramento.

Real-World Science Skills Beyond the Classroom:

Scholars who are within one year of transfer have the opportunity to participate in seminars related to some of the most pressing issues in science today including responsible conduct of research and health disparities discussions.

Academic Year Workshops:

Newly entering scholars participate in workshops designed to improve professional skills in the sciences and enhance academic performance.

Opportunities to Travel to Conferences and Field Trips:

STP Scholars are given the chance to attend local and national science based conferences and meetings throughout the year.

Opportunities to Participate in Undergraduate Student Research Experiences:

STP offers summer research experiences which enhance student research skills such as the STP ISR summer program as well as the SEE Research Internship. Additionally, students who have participated in summer research experiences have opportunities to present their research at various scientific conferences.

A network of like-minded students, faculty and staff dedicated to your success:

STP Scholars have access to the SEE Study Room on the Sacramento State Campus as well as the MESA centers at each of the partnering institutions ARC, CRC, SCC. These spaces allow scholars access to computers and study areas.Guaranteed transfer based on fulfillment of STP contract
