F-1 International Student Employment Options in the U.S. Workshop Description:  

The Office of Global Education will present an informational workshop focusing on a variety of issues related to international student (F-1) employment and training in the US. Students graduating in the fall of 2009 and spring of 2010 may be particularly interested in attending this workshop. This workshop will give international students an introduction to:

  1. Employment Options: On Campus, Curricular Practical Training (internships /co-ops / field work assignments) and Optional Practical Training.

  2. The American workplace (with emphasis on possible cultural differences in work environments between the U.S. and other countries)

  3. University and other resources available to assist in the employment search process

  4. Tips for a successful job search (where and how to search, verbal/non-verbal communication during the search, preparing for the interview)
