Housing and Residential Life
Dear International Student:
We’re glad you are considering attending California State University, Sacramento, and we would like to take this opportunity to tell you about some of the advantages associated with living on-campus in the residence halls.
Our objective goes beyond providing you with comfortable accommodations and helpful service. Our goal is to provide an environment, which supports academic achievement and personal growth for all resident students. A variety of facilities, programs, and activities are provided in order to make the residence hall experience enjoyable and meaningful. We offer you an opportunity to meet people, make friends, and participate in a variety of cultural, social, recreational, and educational activities. The contact you have with other students from different backgrounds, cultures, ethnic and national origins will serve to broaden your perspective on what life is all about. Living on campus offers distinct advantages in the development of academic goals and successes, as well as in the areas of personal and social development.
Space availability in the residence halls for the fall semester is limited and cannot be guaranteed. The standard room is double occupancy. If you wish to apply to live on campus, send us the application located at our web site at www.csus.edu/housing.
Since the residence halls do not open until the following week, you may need to arrange accommodation at a hotel near the campus if you plan to attend the International Orientation Program.
If you decide that you require individualized privacy, living off campus in an apartment or house might be more suitable for you than living in a residence hall. The community surrounding the University has apartments and alternative housing options close to public transportation and in some instances within walking distance to the campus. Availability of rental space close to the University may be limited, so do try to allow ample time to find housing.
For further details regarding living on campus or living off campus, please visit the web site at www.csus.edu/housing.
Sincerely,
Michael Speros
Director, Housing and Residential Life
