Students with excellent grade point averages are encouraged to inquire about scholarships for study or research abroad. For information on Fulbright Grants, National Security Education Program (NSEP), Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships, California State Fair International Studies Scholarships, IIE Undergraduate Scholarships for Asia - Pacific Study, Marshall Scholarships and other scholarships/grants for study or research abroad, applications and advising, contact the CSUS Fulbright advisor, Dr. Monica Freeman, in the Office of Global Education, Lassen Hall 2304. The Grants Register offers a detailed compendium of graduate-level awards offered for study, research and training for nationals of all countries. Complied by Lisa Williams and published by St. Martin Press. The CSUS Library has a copy.
Financial Aid for Study and Training Abroad and Financial Aid for Research and Creative Activities Abroad, edited by Gail Ann Schlachter and R. David Weber. The grants in these books are thoroughly indexed by title, sponsoring agency, geographic location, subject of study and even by application deadline. Foundation Grants to Individuals contains information on more than 2,300 independent and corporate foundations which award grants to individuals. It is very user-friendly, with six indexes, including ones by subject area and geographic area to help you target prospective grants. The International Scholarship Book, edited by Daniel Cassidy, Prentice Hall. provides a comprehensive list of scholarships and grants, available in the public and private sector for study in dozens of countries.The author state that $6.6 billion in funds from corporations is unclaimed, "not because people were un qualifies, but because no one knew where to look." Free Money for Foreign Study offers information on hundreds of sources that fund undergraduate and graduate study in 68 countries around the world and is indexed by country and by academic discipline.
