Housing and Residential Life
Dear International Student:
We are glad you are considering attending California State University , Sacramento . Our program can provide information regarding living on-campus in our residence halls or you may wish to live off campus in a nearby apartment.
We house approximately 1100 students on campus in 5 residence halls. These buildings are all co-ed. Most of our rooms are double occupancy – you and a roommate and the male and female bathrooms are down the hallway. There are many advantages associated with living on-campus in the residence halls. Our objective goes beyond providing you with comfortable accommodations and helpful service. Our goal is to provide an environment which supports academic achievement and personal growth for all resident students. A variety of facilities, programs, and activities are provided in order to make the residence hall experience enjoyable and meaningful. Our trained resident advisors are also available as valuable resources about campus and the community. We offer a variety of opportunities to meet people, make friends and participate in a variety of cultural, social, recreational and educational activities. Living on campus offers distinct advantages in the development of academic goals and successes as well as in the areas of personal and social development.
Please visit our website at www.csus.edu/housing to find out more specific information regarding our residence hall program, costs for room and board, and the room styles we offer. You may request additional housing information by submitting your name and address on-line through the Request for Application link on our website. We will send you our general housing packet which will include the forms which need to be completed and the current costs. Our housing contracts are usually for the entire academic year, however if you are visiting our campus as an Exchange Student for only one semester, we will work with you to provide a semester-only contract. License Agreement materials for housing beginning in Fall semester are usually sent out beginning in mid to late April and housing License Agreement materials for Spring semester are usually sent out beginning in November. Housing on campus is available on a first come-first served basis, so the sooner you return the completed forms and appropriate payment, the higher the chance of you gaining housing on campus.
If you would prefer to live off campus, we also provide information regarding rental property in the area. Please visit our website at www.csus.edu/housing/offcampus and select the link for off campus housing information. We provide on-line rental listings, as well as helpful tips about renting housing off campus.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Cynthia D. Cockrill
