The Data Center has been established by the Office of Institutional Research to house all the information that OIR compiles throughout the year, which includes the following: Quick Facts, University Fact Book, Departmental Fact Book, Student data (Special Reports) and Faculty data (Special Reports). Additionally, there are five years worth of historical data available in the Fact Books and term data in the Special Reports. University Performance Indicators
The University performance indicators provide important indicators of educational effectiveness and student learning of Sacramento State. It compiles the essential statistics at a glance. OIR updates the indicators each semester after census date.
University Quick Facts
Quick facts are brief overviews of the student population at Sac State organized by academic level and degree objective. It's a quick and easy way to learn about the students here at Sac State.
University Fact Book
This section contains summaries and reports of enrollment, student demographics, teaching and learning activities, grades, degrees awarded, and retention and graduation rates at the University and College levels. Faculty, staff, and alumni information are also available. The Fact Book is a comprehensive data source for the university. It is updated each October.
Departmental Fact Book
The Departmental Fact Book has three parts: Input: Students (Student characteristics and enrollment); Process: Curriculum and Instruction (Student course load, faculty teaching load, class size, etc.); and Outcomes: Student academic performance. The data are presented in the form of a 5-year summary. The Fact Book can be used for program review and is updated each August. More data for program review before 2006 can be found in the Program Review Archive.
Students: Special Reports
This section of the Data Center is for student-related information not covered by the University or Departmental Fact Books. Information available here includes: Applied, Admitted, and Enrolled; Student Profiles; GPA; Enrollment Trends; Degrees Awarded; and Long-term Trends. This section also contains historical data that extends past the standard five year summary.
Faculty: Special Reports
This section of the Data Center is primarily for information about Faculty at Sac State, including Instructional Faculty Costs, Faculty Course Assignments, and Full-time/Part-time Faculty Teaching Load. These reports are scheduled to be updated each Summer.
Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System (IPEDS)
Produced by the National Center for Education Statistics, data feedback reports compare data we provided through the IPEDS surveys to data from peer institutions. These reports consider various indicators, including student race/ethnicity, charges and financial aid, graduation rates and degree completions, expenses and revenue, and faculty and staff resources..
Common Data Set
A collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and various information publishers to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided regarding student transitions into higher education.
