Sacramento State One Book Program is proud to announce the new Send it Forward initiative as part of our 2009-2010 One Book: Julie Otsuka’s When the Emperor Was Divine.

San Juan Unified's Mira Loma High School has selected When the Emperor Was Divine as their campus-wide Common Book.  An obstacle to full campus participation is the cost of purchasing books. 

Are you finished with your book and looking to find it a new home? Sacramento State students, faculty and staff are invited to donate copies of When the Emperor Was Divine to Mira Loma High School students. This donation is completely voluntary. If you would like to "send it forward" to Mira Loma High School, we can help.

You can drop off your copy of When the Emperor Was Divine in the English Department Office (Calaveras Hall 104) or the Community Engagement Center (Library 4028).

Faculty: If you would like to help your students participate in the voluntary collection, please coordinate with a Peer Mentor or contact Sheree Meyer. For classroom based collections, we can supply a green One Book Collection box for you or your Peer Mentor to take to class (or simply bring a plastic or paper bag to class to collect the books).
